Once again the artists didn’t get an easy ride in the final of the Sky Landscape Artist of the Year 2019 competition – but not due to the terrible weather this time. Instead the challenging subject matter was to be Battersea Power Station… at night!
None of the finalists had painted en plein air at night before but all managed to pull it off – even if they felt it not quite up to their usual standard.
With such a challenging scene to paint it really all came down to the strength of the commissions that decided the winner – Fujiko Rose.
Congratulations one last time to Patsy for making it through to the finals – no mean feet given the quality of competition, difficult weather and challenging scenes.
