“This painting was inspired by a pair of zebras encountered on a safari in South Africa. All my work is influenced by wildlife I have seen, mostly in their habitats - only those it is impossible to find, the rare Amur tiger and the Snow Leopard, do I use reference material I have gathered from zoos and breeding programmes.”
