Caroline Darke

Caroline is a multi-media artist whose work explores the landscape using layers, colour, collage and texture. She is drawn to landscapes and seascapes both at home and abroad and the enormous changes to those landscapes made by the weather, the seasons and man.

Caroline uses multiple sketches as inspiration for a painting in order to get a feel for a landscape that is emotional and vibrant rather than prescriptive. The landscapes in Sussex and Cornwall are her most visited favourites.
